On Saturday, the family will release a video to promote the new initiative.
The video will feature Ivanka, her father and her husband, Jared Kushner, speaking about their commitment to the project and the importance of being “a part of it.”
“Our family is committed to creating a safe space where kids and families can grow and learn and thrive,” Ivanka Trump said in the video.
“The fact that my father is gay is not something that he will ever, ever, accept, but I do not want my kids to be bullied, I do want them to be able to grow up in a place where they can thrive and be comfortable with their own sexuality.
This is what we are building.
And it is what our kids deserve.”
In an interview with NBC News, Ivanka Trump shared that the family’s goal is to make it possible for gay kids to come out to their parents.
“My father and I are working with a national organization called ‘My Dad Is Gay,’ which is dedicated to promoting acceptance and acceptance of all people, regardless of their sexual orientation,” Ivanka said.
“My father is going to be speaking on that this weekend at the White House.
We are doing our best to make sure that we can get all of the families who have been impacted by this issue in the room and hear their story.”
Ivanka Trump said she wanted to be a part of the project to be part of “the movement to support the LGBT community.”
“We want to be the leader in creating a place for children to learn and grow and be who they want to become,” she said.
“As a mother, as a daughter, as someone who is trying to help kids to grow and develop, I feel very strongly about being a part.
This will be the most important thing that I’ve ever done,” she added.”
The fact is, we are the only family in the world that is supporting this effort, and I want to make this very, very clear: I’m a supporter, I’m an advocate, I stand with my family,” Ivanka continued.
“And I hope that the kids can get to know and understand me and understand who I am.”
The White House did not immediately respond to NBC News’ request for comment.
